The Wizarding World Of Harry Potter

 

Universal Studio's which Opened in 1990 has always' been one of the parks's in Orlando that tick's the visitor's box.

Movie buff's have always' made it their number one theme park to visit. Just when we thought it couldn't get any better 'Island's Of Adventure' opened in 1999 - six unique land's where visitor's get to experience thrill's and excitement that only hogwarts castle universal studiosUniversal could provide.

Finally the ultimate expansion to an already spectacular theme park was announced in 2007 - The Wizarding World Of Harry Potter.

Harry Potter fan's around the world eagerly waited for the grand opening of this park, a park where they could actually get to star in their favourite movie- a place where Hogwart's was no longer a movie set but a reality where they could explore and feel the magic of Harry Potter.

On June 18th 2010 'The Wizarding World Of Harry Potter' was finally born.

Described by Universal as a park within a park 'The Wizarding World Of Harry Potter' is inside The Island's Of Adventure theme park and make's up the seventh land.

Guest's entering the attraction will instantly feel that they have been thrown straight into the movie, as the street's before you recreate many of the location's in the film's. The Hogwarts Express will quickly grab your attention as this authentic recreation is complete with puffing steam funnel and the familiar whistle. You'll notice many of the store's are based on actual place's in the book's. Honeyduke' for instance will instantly be recognized by die hard Potter fan's as the sweet shop from the series, while Zonko's is the well known joke store also featured in the book's.

Main Attraction's

  • Dragon Challenge - If you've ever rode the dualling dragon's before you'll know what this ride is all about. Choose your dragon carefully -a Chinese Fireball or a Hungarian Horntail, then board this twin roller coaster where both coaster's intertwine and miss each by inches' at certain time's throughout the ride
  • Flight Of The Hippogriff - A family friendly roller coaster where you board your Hippogriff (a cross between an horse and an eagle). You'll be flying around pumpkin field's and passing Hagrid's Hut on your journey. On your way to this ride you'll be kept entertained by sound's and sight's, including some amazing animatronics'
  • Harry Potter And The Forbidden Journey - The centerpiece of The Wizarding World Of Harry Potter. Enter Hogwart's School Of Witchcraft And Wizardry and tour some familiar scene's including classroom's and a very creepy art gallery where the painting's appear to come to life just like the movie. Guest's will then board a high tech interactive ride where they'll be soaring high around the castle wall's.

Dining

  • Three Broomstick's - This restaurant is designed around the Inn and Pub from the series. Three Broomstick's is a fast service restaurant where you'll be able to experience many delight's like cottage pie and cornish pasty. A great beverage favourite around the park is Butterbeer. It might look like beer (including creamy head), but Butter beer is in fact non- alcoholic.

Before you leave The Wizarding World Of Harry Potter make sure you check out The Owl Post Office. The Owl Post Office is an actual working post office where you can send postcard's and even letter's back home. Nothing unusual about that you might think, but what's different here is that your mail will have it's very own authentic Hogsmead postmark.
