Orlando, Florida (May 2006): One might think that as the oldest attraction in Orlando Gatorland would be set in its ways and afraid of change when actually just the opposite is true. Founded in 1949, Gatorland today continues to grow and evolve to meet the needs of its guest. Here is a quick look at some of the fun and exciting things in store at the “Alligator Capital of the World” in 2006.
Pre-Historic, Digital Birth Gatorland introduces an interactive birds-eye view of the wilder side of central Florida!
Researching alligators or crocodiles for a school project? Trying to make head or tails out of the many different species of birds indigenous to the area for an upcoming birding tour? Why not check out the new Gator Cam online at www.gatorland.com to see what the natives are up to.
“This Gator Cam is the first of its kind”, states Babs Morrissiey, General Curator for Gatorland. “It’s really great to be able to watch a momma egret feed her young or see alligators basking in the afternoon sun. Who else but Gatorland could make it possible for people to explore the wilder side of central Florida without having to board an airplane?”

Stardom
He smiles at crocodiles
If it’s gators you want, Tim Williams is your man. He supplies the “talent” for film and television productions. And, this has been a busy year for celebrity reptiles. “When you see gators, crocs or snakes on the screen, chances are you’re looking at some of the alligators from Gatorland,” Williams notes.
“Just handling them is fun,” Williams says. “I sit on the gators’ back and talk to them. Sometimes I scratch them under the chin... You have to know when they’re going to move. You have to stay alert. “People ask me if I have a favorite alligator,” he continues. “I love ‘em all. You gotta’ love ‘em all.”
