Scuba Diving In Florida

There's no better place to explore the ocean bed's than in Florida. Beautiful coral reef's litter this tropical underworld along with shipwreck's,cave's and an abundance of colourful sea wildlife to enjoy.
The Florida Key's are are a very popular area of Florida for scuba diving. There's plenty of ship wrecks to explore around this historical area one of which is Adolphus Busch. The ship is 210 feet long and was sunk deliberately in 1999 to try and create an artificial reef. Certain dive center's will be happy to take you out to the various wreck's around the Key's. Also deliberately sunk is an airplane (Lockheed Neptune P2v 3). It is an old Naval Bomber that was donated by The Florida Aviation Museum to The Artificial Reef Program. It was becoming badly rusted and was unable to be repaired so it now sit's proudly - minus wing's - at the bottom of the Gulf Of Mexico (around 40 feet down).
Experienced scuba diver's will have no trouble in finding the perfect dive site for them throughout Florida as there is just so many. If you are new to scuba diving though how do you begin to find what's right for you? Well, there is lot's of location's that are suitable for the beginner. Deerfield for instance in Broward County is suitable for all class's of diver. A great part of Deerfield to try is 'North Rock's' . Here beginner's or learner's can dive with confidence as the depth is only a maximum of 22 feet. On average there is visibility that reach's around 15 meter's so the long reef here is
easily seen along with the beautiful sea life that inhabit's this area. The beginner will also appreciate the fact that this area is easily accessible from the beech.
If your based in Orlando and don't want to travel to far you can go snorkeling with Manatee's in Crystal River. An experience that is suitable for all the family. Scuba diving lesson's are also available in the Orlando area so you can get your confidence up before you decide to explore the amazing reef's further away.
All equipment for scuba diving or snorkeling is easily available for hire or purchase throughout Florida. A lot of the diving trip operator's can provide equipment for your trip, but just make sure of this before you book.
Most of the wreck's you'll see have been sunk on purpose to aid conservation in the area, but this make's diving here more exciting as there's so many of them to explore. One of the most amazing and strangely creepy dive's you might make is at Key Largo. Here you can dive 25 feet down to see the 'Christ Of The Abyss' statue that was donated to John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park in 1966.
