Disney Studio's Review

Step right into the movie's when you visit Disney Studio's in Orlando. The sense of being in Hollywood in the 1930's is reflected in the design and appearance of the old style street's. The sound's and sight's disney studios map picwill take you back to a day when Hollywood kept thing's simple but at the time was a huge industry.

Disney Studio's is a mix of movie themed thrill ride's, live stunt show's and backstage tour's. Movie character's can be seen roaming the street's at various location's so make sure you have your camera ready not only for the character photo's but the odd surprise that happen's as you wonder the park.

As you enter the park you'll be greeted by a hive of colour, sounds and activity. You'll have an opportunity to have your picture taken here which you can purchase if you wish later on in the day as you leave.

At this point you'll probably have noticed situated at Sunset Boulevard the very striking building known as 'The Hollywood Tower Hotel'. Now before you go and check in for the night, don't, because you can't. This is the famous attraction 'The Twilight Zone Tower Of Terror'. Not that anyone would really want to stay here anyway because it's haunted, and has a very unstable lift that you may find yourself falling 13 floor's in, and that's just the start of it. Best get this one out of the way first before you eat.

Other thrilling rides at Disney Studio's include Rock'n'Roller Coaster which star's rock legend's Aerosmith. This is an indoor high speed roller coaster that see's you tag along with Aerosmith in a stretch limo as they try to get to their concert before the deadline. After the initial high speed take off (there's no hill climb before the drop on this one) you'll experience the light's and sound's of California from all sort's of position's all accompanied by a thumping soundtrack from Aerosmith.

If your looking for something less dramatic you'll love 'The Great Movie Ride' - a 22 minute journey through the history of movie's from the earliest creation to modern day great's like Alien. If there was a top ten list of the most relaxing theme park ride's I would have to place this one second just behind 'It's A Small Small World' at The Magic Kingdom. You'll just love the slow pace of this ride on board a rather large moving vehicle that take's you to place's like OZ where you'll be presented by several munchkin's (not real one's but animatronics)recreating famous scene's from the movie.

One of the best 3d or should I say 4d show's in Orlando can be found here at Disney Studio's. Muppet Vision 3d combine's a mix of live actor's (sorry Muppet's) and stunning 3d visual's with a few 4d addition's thrown in as well.

Indiana Jones-Epic Stunt Spectacular - Don't miss this one. This show recreate's some of the most memorable scene's from the Indiana Jones film's. Actor's perform death defying stunt's live in front of the audience all under one roof-a very large roof at that because the performance area here is huge. You'll recognize scene's like the giant boulder that Indy was chased by and also the memorable scene where he was trying to escape in a plane. All this recreated for you live on stage.

Movie fan's will love the 'Studio Back lot Tour'. This tour last's 35 minute's and start's of as a walking tour and then finish's of as a ride aboard a 200 seater tram. The walking tour let's you experience at first hand how some special effect's are created and you'll also get to see the prop warehouse where many item's that you may recognize reside. The Tram ride take's you backstage where you can see some of the actual building's used in well known production's including the Golden Girl's. You'll also pass many vehicle's abandoned on the side of the road including the spacecraft used in Flight Of The Navigator. The end of the tour conclude's with a spectacular disaster scene when you pass through 'Catastrophe Canyon' where special effect's are put to the test with you right in the middle of the action.

To finish of your day you must stay for the Laser, water and firework's spectacular known as 'Fantasmic'. This very unique show is the perfect way to finish of your time here at Disney Studio's. Mickey Mouse himself star's here as the sorcerer's apprentice. Water fountain's cascade upward's as laser's project image's upon them creating amazing visual's mixed with the firework's and sound's this really is one to remember. If your early for this show you can take the opportunity to get seated early and have a beer and a hotdog and talk about your fantastic day you've just had. Don't be surprised to see the odd Mexican wave starting as you wait in the 1,500 seater arena.

There are many more amazing attraction's at Disney Studio's - to many to mention in this one review but to sum up, Disney Studio's is a truly memorable experience for the whole family. Enjoy.
