Cocoa Beach Floridacocoa beach pic

Cocoa Beach is only one hour's drive from Orlando, so it is the perfect destination to head if you want to get away from all the theme park's for a while. Of course we are still in Florida here so thrill's and spill's are never to far away if you want them. Kennedy Space center is of course the most famous of attraction's throughout this area but you should probably allow yourself a day to visit here.

Now i'm sure though that if you are going to visit Cocoa Beach your really wanting to go for a chill out and there's no better place. The whole area is an area of natural outstanding beauty. You'll come across white sandy beach's where turtle's use for nesting their egg's or you'll discover quiet natural lagoon's - perfect for a private picnic. The endangered Manatee can be spotted here in the wild so look out for that (most people only get to see them at EPCOT). The Cocoa Beach area also has many nature park's and reserve's where you can get to see many of Florid's natural inhabitant's in a more controlled environment.

If you are coming to Cocoa Beach to soak up some ray's on the beach you'll be happy to know that Cocoa Beach has an average yearly temperature of 73 degree's and the water itself is not to cold.

Surfing is very popular at Cocoa Beach and some of the best surfing spot's are available on the Space Coast.

If your going to the beach here remember that animal's are not allowed on the beach and also no car's are permitted. Alcohol is allowed on the beach but please bring only plastic bottle's.

Sometime's you might be lucky enough to see some wildlife arrive on the shore, like one of the many sea turtle's that inhabit the area. Remember these animal's can be quite timid so don't get to close to them as they may get frightened.

If shopping is your thing then you'll have plenty of shop's to choose from. Surf shop's as you would expect are very popular here but aside from the surfing you'll find many clothe's shop's, gift shop's, and shopping mall's.

Restaurant's are in abundance at Cocoa beach. Seafood restaurant's to English pub's like The Pig And Whistle on Orlando Avenue can be found dotted all around the resort. There's is lot's of great restaurant's right at the seafront and you'll sure be certain to find one that suit's your taste.

Cocoa Beach is a totally relaxed area compared to the excitement of the theme park's. Activities' are endless here from fishing to golfing to kayaking to airboat ride's to whatever else is possible in such a naturally beautiful place.

At such a close distance from Orlando it really is worth visiting this haven at least just for one day.
