Busch Gardens Tampa Florida

Busch Garden's in Tampa Florida is situated close to Florida's gulf coast and will take roughly just over an hour to drive to from the International Drive area of Orlando. Getting there is straight forward as you can reach it by using the Interstate 4 for a good part of the journey. If you haven't hired a car for your holiday then you can go by coach which are often available from your hotel in the form of a day trip package (check with your hotel for availability). There is also a shuttle bus that's leave's from several part's of Orlando to Busch Garden's (again check with your hotel for information).

Similar to Disney's Animal Kingdom in Orlando, Busch Garden's is a mix of white knuckle thrill ride's and a truly remarkable wildlife experience featuring almost 3000 animal's.

The animal side of the park prove's to be a lot more exciting than just walking round your average zoo.

  • Lory Landing - Get to meet some of the most colourful and friendly bird's from around the world as you enter this free flight area with your tub of exotic bird food. Kid's and adult's both will love these extremely tame creature's who won't think twice at perching on your head
  • Jambo Junction - More bird's and animal feeding's here - this time though the animal's aren't so small including flamingo's, sloth's and lemur's
  • Edge Of Africa - Take a safari at your own pace on foot. You'll meet all kind's of animal's here including lion's, hippo's and everyone's favourite - the meerkat Edge Of Africa is in a beautifully landscaped area themed around an African Fishing Village
  • Jungala - A mini park on it's own this attraction cover's 4 acre's and is an interactive animal experience featuring live entertainment, ride's including a rainforest zip line plus rope's, bridge's and lot's more for kid's of all age's
  • Rhino Rally - Travel through the heart of Africa in an impressive off road jeep experiencing the sight's of the roaming animal's including of course - the Rhino
  • Myombe Reserve - Chimpanzee's and Gorilla's are the main feature of this attraction and as always' a firm favourite of the kid's
  • Bird Garden's - A free flight aviary were around 500 colourful bird's from all over the world fill the skies
  • Cheetah Run - Get up close to one of the world's most fascinating wild cat's - the Cheetah
  • Walkabout Way - From Africa to Australia - Ever wanted to feed a Kangaroo? Know you can at Walkabout Way. Meet some of the best known animal's from life down under.
  • Serengeti Plain - A large part of the park where you can view hundred's of animal's from several different way's including The Skyride, Sernqeti Express Railway or why not try the Sereneqeti Safari.

Thrill Time

  • Tanganyika Tidal Wave - You'll know why Tidal Wave is in the name of this ride if your standing on the bridge watching it at the bottom of the 55 foot drop
  • Sheikra - One of the many roller coaster's at Busch Garden's - Rider's will experience twist's, turn's and a terrifying 90 degree vertical drop
  • Scorpion - A roller coaster which reach's speed's of up to 50mph while looping the loop
  • Serengeti Railway - A relaxing trip which take's you around the Serengeti Plain. This train ride give's you the opportunity to see the animal's and roller coaster's in one journey.
  • Sand Serpent - A not so fast roller coaster that all the family can enjoy (hide restriction's of 46" apply)
  • Kumba - You'll not forget the roar of the Kumba - one of the world's most exciting roller coaster's. You'll hear it before you see it
  • Congo River Rapid's - A white water raft ride where your sure to get really wet. If your watching this one pass by then you can fire a jet of water at the passing rider's by inserting a quarter in one of the many water gun's available (don't feel bad it's great fun)
  • Cheetah Hunt - A new attraction coaster that is dedicated the the graceful Cheetah
  • Gwazi - A classic high speed old fashioned wooden roller coaster that traditionalist's will surely love
  • Montu - You'll be head over heel's seven time's on this monster of a roller coaster. You'll experience 3.85 g's here so hold on tight
  • Stanley Fall's - You'll cool down for sure on this log flume ride with it's 40 foot drop.

New - Sesame Street Safari Of Fun

New to Busch Garden's the kid's will love this area of the park. Ride's are scaled down here so the little one's won't feel left out. Ride's include Air Grover - A Junior roller coaster where kid's get to ride with Grover from the series. There's also a fun flume ride called Zoe Patra And The Hippo's Of The Nile.

Sesame Street Safari Of Fun is a large area with several attraction's available for the smaller kid's and is also a welcome break from the fast and furious white knuckle ride's.

Busch Garden's is a huge park and due to it's location (outside Orlando) is best to try and see it in one day to save an extra day traveling. It can be done but get there early so you get as much time at it in one day.
