Magic Kingdom Review
Magic Kingdom - The fairytale Park as some would see it. The place where someone once said 'dream's come true' and of
course they do because if your 9 or 90 you can't help just forgetting the life you left behind you before you stepped over that entrance into this magical land of sight's, sound's, smell's and the surreal. Yes I say surreal because here you just have to let go. You have to just forget about what's real and what's not and step into that childhood memory of fairytale princess's and magical wizard's. Or you could just head straight over to 'Splash Mountain' and plunge 52 feet in a hollowed out tree trunk and get soaked from head to toe - it's your choice.
Your first part of your day at the Magic Kingdom start's of at the entrance (strange that). Well it is the entrance but it's still a fair bit away from the main park. Once you've shown your ticket's you have a choice 'how do I get to the main park'. It's not quite possible to walk from this point so you can either take the Monorail -which incidentally passe's through Disney's Contemporary Resort Hotel on your way to The Magic Kingdom. The other option is the rather grand Ferry Boat which leave's continuously to and from the park.
Once you reach the Magic Kingdom you are greeted by Main Street U.S.A. Main Street U.S.A is the long shop filled street that's lead's up to the rather impressive 'Cinderella's Castle (the focal point of the park). Cinderella's Castle is your starting point for your day ahead. Here you start your tour of The Magic Kingdom's 5 very different land's.
- Adventure land - Your first adventure. Adventure land take's you on expedition's throughout the globe including the well known 'Pirate's Of The Caribbean' ride (the film was based on the ride) and the exciting 'Jungle Cruise'.
- Frontier land - Yes you guessed it .We're talking the wild west in this land. Jump aboard a runaway mine train at 'Big Thunder Mountain Railroad' or get wet on 'Splash Mountain'. Kid's will love the 'Country Bear Jamboree' here.
- Liberty Square - Home to the 'Hall of President's' and the incredibly entertaining 'Haunted Mansion' Ride with breathtaking special effect's and Hilarious dancing ghost's among other surprise's.
- Fantasy land - Walt Disney described Fantasy land as the land where dream's come true. Here you'll find all your favourite fairytale's coming to life. A highlight of Fantasy land is 'It's A Small Small World' ride. You probably know the tune from the ride but if you don't you soon will.
- Tomorrow land - Visit tomorrow today. Step into the future here and experience ride's like 'Space mountain' and 'The Tomorrow land Speedway'.
Mickey's Toontown Fair is now closed but this is to make way for more exciting attractions opening in 2013
Most people finish their day in Tomorrow land but some people like to start here and finish at Adventure land Either way you'll have done a full circle and you'll be back at Cinderella's castle just in time to for the evening parade and the Spectacular nightly fireworks display known as 'Wishe's'. This Display is so amazing that many guest's at Disney arrive from a day at the other park's just to see the Firework's.
Eating At The Magic Kingdom
There is plenty of dining option's at the Magic Kingdom. From Breakfast's to late supper's it's all covered. 'Character Dining' for the kid's is always' a firm favourite and is also a great opportunity for some great photograph's. Price's vary at the different restaurant's so shop around to find the right one for you. A great favourite of The Magic Kingdom is the turkey leg's (yes turkey leg's). You'll find turkey leg seller's in some location's so why not try one on your way round the park (not suitable for consumption on Space Mountain).
Pram's (stroller's) are available for hire (single or double's) and are a great way of carting your kids and your bag's throughout the park. There's plenty of storage space on board an there is always' an area beside each attraction specifically for pram's to be left. Don't think that they are just for very young kid's because lot's of older children too use them as the day can be quite tiring on foot.
