Orlando - The place where imagination become's reallity and life's trouble's are no more than a distant memory (well for a couple of week's anyway).
Yes Orlando really is the destination that kid's from ages 1 to 100 yearn to visit at least once - but what they say about Orlando is "once is never enough" .There's just so much to see. You'll never fit it all in in one visit.
Of course everyone will associate Orlando with Disney World and it's famous mouse. Indeed Disney World is Orlando's most famous attraction and covering over 40 square miles is also the largest. Disney World has four main parks.
The Magic Kingdom
The Magic Kingdom is the most well known of the Disney parks. It has five lands, each with it's own unique
theme.
- Adventureland
- Frontierland
- Liberty Square
- Fantasyland
- Tomorrowland
Arriving at The Magic Kingdom either by boat or monorail you'll first notice Cinderella's Castle ahead of you as you walk up Main Street USA .Your adventure starts here as you explore the five very different lands that await you.
Disney Studios
Jump into the movies and become part of the action. Disney Studios has everything from heart stopping thrill rides
to relaxing journeys back in time like 'The Great Movie Ride' , or why not take 'The Backlot Tour', which last's arround 35 minutes where you will experience exciting special effect's and discover actual props along the way that have been used in many great movies like Indiana Jones.
A highlight of Disney Studio's is 'The Twilight Zone Tower Of Terror' where you'll drop 13 floors in a broken lift in a haunted hotel (not for the faint hearted).
On certain nights at Disney Studio's you can experience 'Fantasmic', which is a spectacular mix of fireworks, water effect's, laser's and music which is hosted by Mickey Mouse himself dressed as the Sorcerer's Apprentice.
Epcot
What does EPCOT stand for ? It stand's for Experimental Prototype Community Of Tomorrow. Or some
people might say it means
Every Person Comes Out Tired. Epcot is a huge park, in fact it's kind of like two theme park's in one, both very different in nature.
Future World - As it's name suggest's is a step into the future where the technology of tomorrow can be experienced today. You'll know your in Future World when you see a very large golf ball like structure ahead of you. This golf ball in fact is known as Spaceship Earth and is not just there to look good but is a slow paced 16 minute interactive ride which spirals up around the inside of the ball and takes you through time from the beginning of man to the modern day and beyond.
World Showcase - In World Showcase you will experience eleven countries in one day. Each country has restaurants, shops and landmark's that represent each culture. For example as you enter France you'll notice a scaled down Eifel Tower surrounded by French restaurants and shops all created in the style of French architecture.
All the countries surround the stunning 'World Showcase Lagoon'. A large picturesque lake that is the main focus for the nightly fireworks display know as IllumiNations:Reflections Of Earth. This spectacular award winning display can be viewed from any of the eleven countries and is well worth staying for to end the day.
Animal Kingdom
Animal Kingdom (Disney World's newest theme park), is the largest animal theme park in the world and is home to over 1,700 animal's of all types. Situated in 500 acres of stunning landscape Animal Kingdom can be as exhilarating or as relaxing as you like.
There's seven different areas to experience in Animal Kingdom each with it's own unique attractions. Highlights include 'The Kali River Rapids'
in Asia where nobody come's of it dry. 'Expedition Everest' also in Asia is a frightening roller coaster ride inside and outside where the famous Yeti follows your every move .In Africa there's 'The Kilimanjaro Safari' where you'll travel through Africa in an open sided vehicle where all kinds of wild animal's roam free. You might have a few surprises along the way so hang onto your seat.
